| S1 free didnt recognize any of my plugins after install and first time opening. The manual says go Studio One / options/ locations / vst plugins , but the path ends at locations. There is no vst plugins option. Does S1 free allow you to use 3rd party plugins? Ive actually tried opening and closing S1 a couple of times to see if it would scan my VST folder but no dice! The manual also says you can drag n drop a vst plugin folder but that hasnt worked either. Any ideas? | Studio1.v2 is a great DAW. It's a big let down and disappointment to find standard VST plugins aren't supported. I have several Native Instruments plugins plus BFD3 that can't be used. Hope version 3 addresses this issue. At the moment am trying the Pro Demo and will likely walk away from buying it. |

Once the Options window opens, select Locations at the top and then VST Plug-ins from the tabs that appear. This is where we direct the Studio One software to read the location of our Plug-ins. Next, click Add at the bottom left of the window. This will pull up a file browser that will allow us to choose the location of your plug-ins. The great news is that Studio One Prime comes with some great free plug-ins that can help you get a huge variety of guitar tones. Studio One Prime includes RedLightDist, a hugely flexible plug-in that features everything from subtle clipping right through to outright destruction and a limited version of Ampire, the guitar amp and cab plug-in. Studio One Pro will then scan these locations, along with searching for new-plugins, at startup. All 3 rd Party AU, VST3, and ReWire920-enabled plug-ins and applications have their own file path in the OS and will not have to be located manually.

The Pro Demo does support VST. Artist and Free are the only current versions that do not have vst support.
